My Essentials: Stephanie Jimenez
Stephanie is a fashion illustrator and graphic designer, who studied fashion design at The University of Texas at Austin and has dabbled in both clothing and jewelry design that graced the runways as well as high end boutiques. In 2011, she jumped into a career of fashion illustration in 2011, after having an epiphone that it was and had always been my one true love. Since then, she has started my own line of glamorous greeting cards, worked on custom illustrations for clients all over the world and was recently commissioned to do a series of greeting cards by Hazlitz, a bespoke stationary company in the UK due out spring of 2013.
She once opened a fortune cookie that said that she “would make a name for myself in the field of fashion” and believe me, she has every intention of doing so. Be sure to vote her Esty Store and use the code FABISBLACK35 to receive 35% off your total order. And here are a few of the items she can’t live without!
1- Fresh Tinted Lip Treatment – My lips are lost without Fresh and their delicious scents. I have one in every color and each is thrown into a various handbag so I’m never without.
2- A Wild Soap Bar - I love A Wild Soap Bar’s black willow bark bar soap, it gently exfoliates, leaves my skin feeling fresh and is 100% organic.
3- Chloe Perfume – Hands down, my favorite scent and everyday go-to perfume.
4- Haruki Murakami’s Kafka on the Shore – I read Haruki Murakami’s Kafka on the Shore in college and instantly fell in love with his unique surrealist writing style. I have all of his books but this one always manages to sneak into my carry on for long vacations.
5- The Kate Spade Quinn Bag - I love this bag so much, I have it in three colors! It fits everything neatly, from my cell phone, wallet, make up and it’s even the perfect size for my iPad. Perfection.
6- Tom’s Wedges - These are my new go to summer wedge, so comfy and with every purchase, a kid in need receives a pair of shoes. Hard to beat.
7- The Shins’ Port of Morrow is currently on repeat and I have a feeling it will be for a while…
8- Prismacolor Markers – As an illustrator, Prismacolor markers are my preferred weapon of choice.
9- Doctor Who – I’ve embraced my inner nerd and have fallen madly in love with the Doctor…all of them.
10- My Greeting Cards – I love the thoughtfulness of receiving handwritten notes and make sure to send plenty to my friends and clients.
